i was lucky and spotted two rarely visiting bottlenose dolphins near the beach of my hometown! unfortunatly they where pretty far out in the middle of the fjord. so i asked my dad to look for them by yacht. next day, late afternoon and already on the way back from our tour all over the fjord, they finally came right towards us. i forgot those fellas are pretty curious, so the 140-400mm didn't make that much sense in the end, and totally lost in admiration i also didn't think about removing the teleconverter at least. though i got some interesting shots of these majestic and powerful creatures, playing around the boat for quite some time. right next to the boat, one of them suddenly jumped three meters high out of the water, bursting my entire viewfinder. often they swam along lying on their side making long and intense eye contacts, which revealed their sublime intelligence to me once again. it's them who decide if and how long one encounters them.
